Ben Stern, Vice President and Associate Broker with Buyer’s Edge, is Inducted into Greater Washington Jewish Sports Hall of Fame

Leading Bethesda, MD-based Exclusive Buyer Brokerage firm, Buyer's Edge is pleased to announce that Ben Stern, Vice President and Associate Broker has recently been inducted into the Greater Washington Jewish Sports Hall of Fame. Ben has been one of the top residential real estate specialists providing homebuyer services in the Washington, DC Metro area since joining the firm over ten years ago.

Ben was the first runner from Washington, DC to qualify for the Footlocker National High School Cross Country Championship in the 40 year history of the race. Ben finished high school as a 3 time Washington Post All-Met with a personal record in the mile of 4:13 and 15:17 for 5K, among the best times in the country.

Ben went on to run for Princeton University where he was an Ivy League Champion, multiple time All-Ivy, and voted team captain by his teammates, becoming the first Jewish captain in the nearly 150 year history of Princeton Track & Field. By age 19, Ben had run a 4:06 mile and was one of the top distance runners on the east coast.

As a graduate student on the legendary University of Oregon team, Ben had his career best season; beating 6 sub-4:00 minute milers, a future top 5 finisher at both the Boston & NYC marathons, and two Olympians...all to make the varsity 5 man roster.

Post-graduation, Ben was selected to represent USA/Ivy Alumni internationally and raced in Japan. After retiring from racing, Ben has become an avid mountaineer, climbing in the Andes, Cascades, and Alps, including a summit of the Matterhorn.

“I feel honored to have been recognized by the Greater Washington Jewish Sports Hall of Fame.” said Ben Stern. “My connection with the JCC runs deep. As a child I attended JCC preschool, spent Purim Festivals making cotton candy with my family, won the Perlo award, and volunteered at Camp JCC. Most importantly, I’m thrilled that this year’s Dinner of Champions Event raised over $90,000 in support of Inclusion at Camp JCC.”

Ben is a native Washingtonian and has lived in Montgomery County, Maryland and many neighborhoods throughout the Washington, DC area. With family across the region, including Northern Virginia, Ben has enjoyed working as a real estate broker seeing the growth and progress of the entire Washington, DC Metro area.
